Summer Engineering Academy

One-week program designed to introduce high school
students to engineering, particularly women and minorities.
Application Deadline: April 27, 2009

Age group: Session I Entering 9 & 10 Grades
Session II & III Entering 11 & 12 Grades

Cost: $485 Includes materials, room and board.
Some need-based scholarships available.
$10 non-refundable application fee

Summer of Excellence

Five-week program designed for high performing students.
Students earn UA college credit and participate in a variety of
supplemental activities. Participants are required to live in residence halls.

Summer Institute for Writing & Thinking Across the Curriculum

Students read, write, and share compositions in small and
large groups. 1/2 high school credit is available. Individual
tutorials and writing workshops included.
Application Deadline: April 30, 2009.

Age group: Grades 9, 10, 11

Cost: Free to underrepresented & economically disadvantaged students.

Summer Institute on Medical Ignorance

Seven week paid summer research program in which
students gain experience working in a laboratory and explore
health careers at the UA College of Medicine. Attendance at
seminars is mandatory.
