Description of Activity: The Pima County Joint Technological Education District will provide the delivery of premier, rigorous career and technical education programs for all eligible students. JTED works with school districts throughout Pima County in conjunction with business and industry. These programs are focused on both the educational and employment needs of Pima County. Description of Activity: Overview of Career and Technical Education in southern Arizona and the role JTED plays in enhancing current and creating new career programs for students in high schools.

Description of Activity: This workshop will highlight some free websites, including the Arizona Career Information System (AzCIS), available for students and parents to investigate various post-secondary career options. Participation will be limited to 20 per workshop, since it will include web demonstration and computer use.

Name of Activity: Interests, Personality, Learning Styleand Aptitude: Four Critical Elements In Academic and Career Success
Description of Activity: Have you ever heard or said any of the following: My child is great with his hands! My kid can't sit still. No matter how many times I tell her, she doesn't listen! I know this guy who makes a lot of money, but he never seems happy at work. This presentation will include demonstrations of assessments that may help parents and students increase their awareness of personal likes, strengths/needs, interests and temperament. Any serious career exploration must include these elements, and you'll learn how!
