Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
Description of Activity:
The ASVAB is an interest and aptitude inventory administered by the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. Although sponsored by the US military, test results may also be used to provide career guidance to students regarding civilian as well as military occupations. The ASVAB is offered each fall and spring at CFHS.

Catalina Foothills Alumni Day
Description of Activity:
Each January graduates of CFHS who are home for the holidays from their first semester at college come back to the high school and present information about what college life is "really" like to juniors and seniors. Issues such as what the food is like, what to do about a bad roommate, and what you should and should not bring to college, are examples of the many topics discussed.

Description of Activity:

A resource center adjacent to the counseling offices in which information about colleges, admissions tests, test preparation, military recruiting, AzCIS access and many other materials about life after high school is made available to all CFHS students. The CCC is staffed every day by volunteer parents.

A panel presentation targeted towards high school seniors and their parents. College Representative Visits
Description of Activity: Admissions representatives from colleges and universities make schedule visits to the CFHS campus.
Interested students, primarily seniors, attend desired college sessions. College visits occur mostly in the fall of each school year. Approximately 150 schools visit CFHS representing a wide variety of private and public institutions. In state schools, like the U of A, make multiple visits each year. The visits are scheduled by counseling office and staffed by volunteer parents from the CFHS College and Career Center.

Description of Activity:
Financial Aid Night, offered each January, is an information session about the costs of going to college and how to pay them. Session is sponsored by the CFHS counseling department and presented by a representative from the U of A Office of Financial Aid. Information about FAFSA, grants, loans, work study, scholarships and other relevant suggestions on how to pay for college is presented to CFHS seniors and their parents.

AzCIS at Esperoro Canyon Middle School
Description of Activity: Students complete the AZCiS Career Interest Profiler in the computer lab. Students answer questions regarding interests, and are given a "career cluster" at the end. Students then can explore various aspects of careers they have potential to do well in.
